Sara Aguilar is a documentary filmmaker, editor, director, and cultural activist born in El Salvador & based in Los Angeles. Her work is deeply rooted in community and uplifting marginalized narratives. Sara works closely with artists and organizations to document the transformative power of art as a tool of empowerment, healing, and resistance. Her work often highlights the stories of the Central American diaspora and the contributions of immigrant communities in Los Angeles. She has worked with The National Endowment for the Arts, The Alliance for California Traditional Arts, and Justice for My Sister among others.

Sara creates videos with individuals and organizations that are consciously building and affecting positive change. She holds a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of California Los Angeles.
